These Are Five Great Ideas To Clean Your Carpet

Sometimes, you need to have a few ideas to keep you motivated while you clean your house. It’s not uncommon to find the excitement of trying a new carpet-cleaning technique irresistible. You are not the only one looking for tips and tricks online. It’s perfectly normal to enjoy the process of cleaning.

You can find cleaning hacks, tips and tricks everywhere, whether you’re bored with your daily routine or just looking for inspiration on Pinterest. There are many other ways to make things more interesting. Sometimes, you might need to have a plan for dealing with a particularly stubborn stain or to determine when it’s time for your carpets to be deep cleaned.

Carpet cleaning may not be the most exciting task in the world. However, it is possible to keep your motivation up by using new ideas. Your home cleaning routine should include taking care of your carpets. Carpets that look cleaner last longer, and are more attractive overall. Here are five ways to clean your carpets.

Contents

1. Baking soda doesn’t have to be your only choice.

You’ve likely tried some of these more well-known ideas. It’s a great tip to use baking soda and vinegar to remove stains, but it may be something you have already tried. Perhaps it isn’t working this time. You may need to try a new method for some stains. It is unlikely that you have tried everything to remove the stain. Don’t lose heart.

It’s time for you to try baking soda again. Shaving cream is a good alternative to baking soda. Most carpet stains can be treated with shaving cream, and it may work even better than other methods.

You can apply shaving cream to the stain. Let it sit for approximately 30 minutes. After the shaving cream has been set, you can use a dry towel to wipe it away. Next, spray some vinegar and baking soda in a spray can. The carpet need not be soaked, but it should still feel damp. This can be blotted up once the stain has dried for five minutes.

After you’ve blotted the vinegar/water mix, your carpet should look much better. You might need to repeat this process if the stain has become particularly stubborn. Baking soda is an excellent option, but shaving crème can also be useful. Try it next time.

2. Steam cleaning can be a great option.

It is very important to begin cleaning deep into your carpet. Dirt and other debris can settle deep within the carpet fibres, far beyond what a vacuum can reach. Deep cleaning can be done by professionals if you want to save some money. Steam cleaning your carpets can be done yourself. This will allow you to save time and avoid damage.

Most supermarkets have a steamer available for rent. Also, the detergent is often quite inexpensive. The cleaning solution is not very strong, so you may need to test it first on a small section of carpet. You might find that certain detergents and carpets don’t mix well together, so don’t try to start somewhere very visible.

Steam cleaning is something that you may enjoy if steam cleaning is new to you. You’ll be amazed at how clean your carpets become as you work. You will eventually need to steam clean your carpets. If you have the time, enjoy the process.

3. Grab some ice.

Gum might be one of your most fearsome carpet problems. It’s sticky, and you may have to call someone to help you get it out. Try this next clever trick before you call someone. Instead of trying and removing the gum yourself, you can freeze it with ice.

You will have a greater chance of removing gum from your carpet if it is one solid mass. After the gum has sat with the ice on for a few moments, take out the ice. Use a butter knife to loosen the gum. This tip will save you many headaches.

4. Also, heat is a great option.

The wax from a candle is another sticky situation that can cause carpet damage. Sometimes you don’t even realize that something is happening. Sometimes wax can stick to carpet fibres, and other times it may seem like it will be part of your decor forever.

Instead of trying to scrape the wax out or pulling it out cold, you can cover the wax with a towel. Then heat it up with an Iron. The wax will begin to melt underneath the towel, and it will lift up from there. If any larger chunks are still found under the towel, they will be able to lift up easily as they aren’t stuck to the fibres.

5. When you vacuum, change up.

Vacuuming every week on the same days is not a good idea. You might try switching things up and vacuuming on a different day. Sometimes you may be putting off vacuuming because there isn’t enough time. Change your schedule until you find the right day for you.

Your vacuuming schedule may not be the best for you if you are constantly vacuuming up bigger messes. There are many ways to keep your carpet clean.

While carpet cleaning may not always be fun, there are still ways to test new methods and find out if they work. Sometimes boredom can cause you to look for a better way to clean a stain or other problem in your carpet. Take the information you have just read and apply it to your next deep cleaning or stain removal.
